Carol Sue Gershman challenges us to rethink our approach to growing older. That tendency of "being set in our ways" is given a thoughtful and youthful alternative by her free spirit and sees life as an ever-unfolding and adventurous new road to be taken with joy, instead of trepidation.
While most seniors retire, move south, and leave their home boundary’s, Ms. Gershman chose to cross the racial boundary, by falling in love at age 70.
When her lover walked out on her, she took all her negative energy and put it into writing by morphing her 2 ½ page story about their road trip she called “Adventure in Love,” into her first book, The Jewish Lady, The Black Man, and The Road Trip. Her intention was to shock her ex with the book and get him back, but instead the 325-page book turned her into a first-time author. Gershman had often said that in her next life she would like to be a singer and much to her surprise, at age 75 she decided to go for it and enrolled in a jazz singing class. Quickly learning that she didn’t have a singing voice, she did learn that she had ability to perform. While most of her fellow students went on with more lessons, Ms. Gershman found it was more fun to learn by performing at open mic sessions, and is currently producing and will star in her first cabaret show!
While preforming whenever she could, Carol Sue went on to pen her second book, Here Comes Amazing You: 49 Terrific Ideas for a bigger, better, happier, healthier, sexier, and more vibrant lifestyle. A book on fashion, exercise, wellness, make-up tips, cosmetics procedures, marriage, single life, sex, courage, self-esteem, spirituality, independence, friendship and so much more!
