Sequential art is graphic storytelling that predates comics by millennia. Some of the earliest examples are cave paintings, Egyptian hieroglyphics and pre-Columbian American picture manuscripts, which were recurrent media of artistic expression. Greek artists used to use vases as media to tell stories…… and Rome's “Trajan's Column,” completed in 113 AD, is an early surviving example of a narrative told through the use of sequential pictures…….which is now an art form now called sequential sculpture. The Sequential Artists Workshop is a school and an arts organization with a mission of nurturing and educating sequential artists…… and promoting sequential art, and literacy in our culture today.
Tom’s newest release is Rosalie Lightning, A Graphic Memoir that is both touching and beautiful about the untimely death of his young daughter, Rosalie. Tom is also a featured author at the upcoming Miami Book Fair November 18th – 20th.
