For well over 15 years, the international fashion elite have flocked to the city of sun and sand for its official fashion event, Miami Fashion Week. Recognized for bringing the most talented, established and emerging international designers to the forefront of the American market, MFW remains cutting edge and a leader in the industry by creating the world’s first international platform for Cruise/Resort and Pre-Spring designer collections. In 2014, MFW will outdo all previous years with the premiere of its new concept, Miami Fashion Week RESORT.
“What better place in the world to launch a new resort show than Miami Beach” says Beth Sobol, Miami Fashion Week’s CEO and President of Sobol-Perry Fashion Productions. “With Miami known as the cruise capital of the world, we have created a new international platform for designers to show their resort and pre-spring collections in one cohesive location.” “We’re very excited about the continued global expansion of the Miami Fashion Week brand” says Managing Partner, Aaron Perry.
As one of the top 5 fashion weeks and known across the globe as the largest International and Latin American fashion event, MFW celebrates Latin and general market fashion, beauty, music, art, cuisine and lifestyle, with a crossover of international culture from designers, entertainers and celebrities from around the world. Throughout the week, attendees are able to enjoy the latest collections in women’s wear, menswear, swimwear, jewelry and accessories. Included as our special guests will be fashion shows and personal appearances by some of the world’s most renowned designers.
MFW has created a retail relations “Buyers & Agents Program” to invite the top US, Canadian and Latin American retail buyers in the department store and specialty store markets as well as the Agents at some of the most important designer showrooms to attend the fashion shows. Buyers and agents will receive special incentives, opportunities and private meetings with some of the most exciting established and emerging designers in the world, who are all launching their new resort collections in Miami Beach.
“Miami Fashion Week continues to offer cutting edge designer collections every year with inspiration to re-invent my retail environment, introduce me to the freshest retail concepts, and expand my fashion vocabulary. The Resort collections will be a welcomed addition to Miami Fashion Week,” explains Robin Fleming, Retailer at LA CASA HERMOSA of Wellington.
“As a buying office representing over 200 National and International retailers, the resort market has become very important to the industry. Since we are looking for more turns in product and a wider assortment, it has become a challenge to attend many shows just to find a few resources. We are excited about the creation of Miami Fashion Week RESORT, finally a one stop shop for our resort needs with some of the most exciting and talented emerging designers of the world.” Mercedes Gonzalez, Director, Global Purchasing Group, NYC
