Jason Prescott, Show Producer, expressed his excitement at stating: “We at ATSM are so grateful for the support of everyone in the South Florida community. Since we announced to host the trade show here, we’ve created strong and significant partnerships with business leaders like Mr. Moishe Mana of Mana Wynwood, and Dr. Shanjie Li – Executive Chief Economist and CEO of Miami-based American Da Tang Group, as well as so many wonderful individuals from government organizations such as the GMCVB, the Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development, the Port of Miami, the City of North Miami, Port Everglades, Florida East Coast Railway, the Fashion Business Association of America, and Fashion Group International, all who have been instrumental in helping us make this show a success. I’m excited to open our doors so that our exhibitors and attendees will have the opportunity to meet these economic and trade players and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

Beth Sobol, President and CEO of the Fashion Business Association of America (formerly CIFD) will be the closing keynote speaker of the ATS-M Fashion Day on May 22nd. “I am thrilled to support this new show in Miami and to help rebuild the fashion industry infrastructure in our city, said Sobol.”

The three-day trade show will welcome top apparel and textile manufacturers from over 15 regions with top brands, retailers, designers and sourcing professional from China, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, the US, the City of Miami, their newest partner East Africa Trade and Investment Hub, and many more from the Americas.

The USAID East Africa Trade and Investment Hub (the Hub) is the one-stop shop in the East African region for businesses and national governments seeking to take advantage of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). The Hub supports Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda to increase their exports to the U.S. through AGOA. Apparel accounts for the largest volume of African trade to the U.S. under AGOA (some 90% of non-oil exports) and is a key sector in East Africa in terms of employment and growth potential. East Africa has become a focal point for African sourcing, a trend that is expected to continue as global sourcing patterns change. ATSM is the first Miami-based sourcing trade event to host the USAID East Africa Trade and Investment Hub.

At Apparel Textile Sourcing Miami, the product categories cover the whole world of apparel and textiles from fashion to function, from leather to lace. Categories will include finished apparel for men, women, and children that range from leisure, formal, denim, active, swim, intimates, and performance. You’ll also find home-wares and linens, hardware, and textiles that include cotton, knits, yarns, leather, synthetic, and blends.

“We hope and expect that there will be numerous deals being done and contracts being finalized by key buyers and decision makers from around the world,” said Mr. Cao Jiachang, the chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles and Apparel (CCCT). The CCCT is the largest textile and apparel trade agency both in China and the world with more than 12,000 member companies operating in 34 provinces. That they chose ATSM as the stage to launch their US debut speaks to the reputation and reach of this show. “We have worked with Jason for many years on various projects and we know that when he has a vision there is no stopping him. This show will keep growing in size and strength and we’re excited to be here as one of the main partners,” continued Mr. Cao.

Over 20 exciting seminars will take place throughout the three days of ATS-M, addressing a comprehensive range of topics including sustainability, global sourcing, supply chain, social compliance, Influencer marketing, and branding strategies. Sessions will be presented by industry experts, top educators, respected designers, influential bloggers and economists.

A highlight of the seminars will be the participation of trade show partners, WRAP and Intertek. WRAP, the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production, is an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane and ethical manufacturing around the world through certification and education. Intertek is a leading total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, offering Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions through a network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices in more than 100 countries. Representatives from both organizations will discuss “The Role Social Compliance Plays in Globally Competitive Markets – a Global Sourcing Imperative.” Delegates from WRAP will also lead seminars on “Design Meets Sustainability” and “How Responsible Sourcing Applies To You.”

“We expect many attendees to be drawn to the fashion show and complimentary educational sessions provided by the trade show as they offer invaluable networking opportunities and these vibrant and extraordinary professionals will inspire you and motivate you,” Prescott said. “Several of the sessions will also offer resources for small businesses or advice for young designers on how to take their brand to the next level and we’re sure those will also be very popular.”

The ATS-M seminars, panels, and events are complimentary for all registered for ATS-M attendees. Seating is available on first-come-first-serve basis. To register, please visit: www.appareltextilesourcing.come
